PWM held its Tadau Ka’amatan and Gawai Dayak Celebration 2026 on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at Dewan Cheendana, Sengkurong. The event brought together over 200 PWM members and friends for an afternoon High Tea celebrating the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Kadazan-Dusun and Dayak communities of Sabah and Sarawak.

The celebration was graced by the presence of His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam and Patron of PWM, whose attendance underscored the significance of the occasion for the Malaysian community in Brunei.

Guests were treated to a lively programme of traditional performances presented by PWM members and friends, showcasing the customs, music, and dance of the Kadazan-Dusun and Dayak peoples. The performances brought the spirit of Tadau Ka’amatan (Harvest Festival) and Gawai Dayak to life, offering attendees a colourful window into the cultural traditions of East Malaysia.

“Beyond the festivities, the event served as a meaningful platform for the Malaysian community in Brunei to come together, celebrate their shared heritage, and strengthen bonds of friendship and unity across cultures,” said Ms Josie Abdullah, the Organising Chair for the event.

PWM extended its appreciation to all members, friends, and supporters who contributed to making the celebration a memorable success, and reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to preserving and sharing the diverse cultural traditions that make up the Malaysian community.
