PWM celebrated the achievements of 49 young Malaysians at the PWM Academic Excellence Awards 2026, held in Bandar Seri Begawan. The ceremony was graced by His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, together with President Azlan Ahmad, parents and members. Speaking at the event, His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue working hard and make their families and community proud. “Your achievement today is only the beginning. Continue to learn, work hard and aim for greater success in the future.”
President Azlan Ahmad said the awards programme was part of PWM’s commitment to supporting young Malaysians and encouraging them to excel in education. “We are proud of all our students. Their success reflects their hard work, together with the support of their parents and teachers.” The awards also highlighted the importance of education, discipline, family support and perseverance in helping young people achieve their goals.
Vice President of Education Yang Mulia Puan Lenny Juvena binti Azmi, also known as Vee Azmi, reminded students that academic success is built on foundations that are not always visible. Using the metaphor of roots, she highlighted the importance of effort, discipline, perseverance, teachers and family support behind every achievement. “Your academic results are like the leaves and the fruits. We see your grades, your certificates and your awards. But behind every achievement are roots.” Students were encouraged to remain resilient when facing setbacks, develop good study habits early and understand that progress is built through consistent effort. Students were encouraged to plan early for their future education and careers, including understanding the requirements for O Level, IGCSE, university programmes and scholarships. The event also recognised the important role played by parents, teachers, PWM Advisors and Executive Committee members in supporting the students.
Special recognition was given to Chin Endy, who received the award again this year after being recognised as an award recipient in 2025. PWM also extends its appreciation to the sponsors and supporters who contributed towards the programme.
